Chargeurs Group Announces Robust First-Half Growth, Remains Confident for Future business, fashion, fashion news

French textile group Chargeurs has announced strong financial results for the first half of 2023, demonstrating continued growth and resilience in a dynamic global market. The company reported sales of €374 million, an 11% increase compared to the same period last year. This positive performance was further bolstered by a 20.8% rise in EBITDA, reaching €29.6 million.

The strong first-half results were driven by solid performances across key divisions. In the Technologies division, Chargeurs PCC, a leading interlining specialist, maintained stable sales at €101.2 million, reflecting a 0.7% increase year-on-year. Within the Luxury Goods division, Luxury Fibers sales, which include Nativa materials, saw a healthy 6.9% growth, reaching €43.1 million.

Geographically, Chargeurs witnessed a resurgence in European orders during the second quarter, following a slight contraction in the first three months of the year. The Americas region continued to be a major driver of growth, with consecutive quarterly increases of 17% and 24.8%. While Asia experienced robust growth of 14.6% in the first quarter, it moderated slightly to 0.9% in the subsequent three months.

CEO Michaël Fribourg expressed confidence in Chargeurs” future prospects, stating: «Buoyed by the momentum in its core businesses, Chargeurs has confirmed its confidence for 2024 in a constant environment, with the scenario of an even more significant acceleration towards the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.» He further emphasized the company’s focus on maximizing value creation from its diversified portfolio of assets in thriving sectors.

With its presence spanning over 100 countries and employing approximately 2,400 individuals, Chargeurs aims to achieve €1 billion in sales by 2025. This ambitious target underscores the company’s commitment to continued growth and expansion. Recently, CEO Fribourg initiated a takeover bid for the company through its holding companies, aiming to strengthen his control and further propel Chargeurs towards its strategic objectives.
